Where “magic” moisture resistant, mitigating or otherwise unaffected products are concerned you might
not hear or experience this but we see it and experience it working in the drain of the sewer of the floor-
ing industry. The “Gee, we thought it would work” comment is something you don’t want to hear from
anyone after a failure. Most often there is no science to back up marketing claims and if things sound
too good they probably are. My mother used to say in
Italian, “When you spit up in the air, it comes back and
hits you in the face.” This is what some of the “magic”
products that can’t fail do. Look, I am a marketing guy
who started a highly technical flooring business and
we are smack dab in the middle of the flooring capital
of the world, we know what goes on. We live, sleep,
eat and breathe this stuff every day. There are few if
any scientist working here so where’s the science to
back up the marketing claims? Remember these
words I’ve been speaking for years; “words do not
change the laws of physics, science or chemistry and
the flooring never lies, it will always tell you what’s
wrong if you know how to interpret what its saying -
people lie but not the flooring.”

One more thing you should do on every job; take pictures of everything you’re doing and document
everything and put dates and times on all of it and who you talked to. If you should have a problem the
fact that you have all the information that memorializes the events will certainly work in your favor.
